WHAT DO WE KNOW FROM THE STATES?
We know that CT, MA, NY and D.C. have all decided to extend the July 2020 Bar Exam until “sometime in the fall”.
Each jurisdiction is entitled to make its own decision about whether it will administer the July bar exam or not.
WHAT DO WE KNOW FROM THE NCBE?
The NCBE will decide on or about May 5, 2020 about whether it will deploy the MBE, MEE and MPT for the July 2020 exam. This decision is going to be based on how many jurisdictions decide to administer the July 2020 exam.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?
Good question, as the above information does not provide any definitive answers. Basically, the NCBE will offer different MEEs, MBEs and MPTs in the fall than they do for the July exam (if there is in fact a July exam).
As the NCBE states: “There are no simple answers and no great solutions to this situation.”
