The California Bar Exam is Online With a 50-Point Lower Cutoff Score

California joins the following states in holding an online bar exam: Arizona, Kentucky, New Jersey, Maine, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and the District of Columbia.
The exam with be online October 5-6, 2020
That Score Drop!
The passing score will be permanently lowered from 1440 to 1390. That. Is. 50. Points.
Not All Online Environments Are Created Equal.
With a follow up on our articles about the uncertainties about online exams, the California Supreme Court determined that an online exam would be administered without the need for the examinee to have a high-speed or constant internet connection. The court has also asked area law schools to open up their facilities to those graduates who don’t have internet access or do not have a home environment amenable to a 2-day exam.
